Volunteering with AFFECT, Inc  is truly a selfless activity and is intended to promote goodness and improve quality of life not only for those being served but for the volunteers themselves. In return, you will have a feeling of self-worth and respect! Helping with AFFECT, Inc is a great way to build skills for yourself, build relationships and have fun in addition to improving and AFFECTING our surrounding community.

We have done a lot in the past few years but there is still more work to be done. By clicking on the link below and completing our volunteer registration form, you will be well on your way to serving and helping others receive the support they need. 

We currently need assistance with the following programs:

Continuous Core Programs

Fresh Food Stand - Our fresh food stand offers a variety of fruits and vegetables at discount prices to the surrounding community. Volunteers are needed from all capable ages and will be required to attend and complete a Food Handlers Class. More Info | Fresh Food Stand Store  

After School Program - Our after school program provides a comfortable supportive environment where children can receive homework support, tutoring, as well as interpersonal skill development. College age and up volunteers are needed as Teachers, Food/Snack Servers, Drivers and more. 

Summer Academic Program (SAP) - Our SAP is a free summer camp offered for underprivileged youths ages 7 -14 and provides a safe and fun learning environment, full of academic learning and a variety of educational experiences for program participants. SAP  is in need of volunteers 16 years of age and up as Teachers, Food/Snack Servers, Drivers, Chaperons and more. More Info

Ave F Family Health Center - Through collaboration with Baylor Medical Center of Plano, the clinic provides primary care to uninsured residents in East Plano and the Douglas Community. High school aged students and up are needed to volunteer. More Info


Annual Events

Single Parent Symposium - This symposium provides a venue for single parents to meet and discuss topics they face everyday. It provides support for single parents in areas such as parenting, finances, and much more. 

Fall Festival - The Fall Festival also known as the "Halloween Block Party" is an opportunity to promote safety and wellness through a community event by hosting fun activities, meeting neighbors, and obtaining educational information for better health and safety. Volunteers of all ages are needed for preparation and support during this event.  More Info

2,000 Turkey and Basket Giveaway - One of our most fulfilling events happens shortly before Thanksgiving each  year. AFFECT and its volunteers come together to provide over 1,000 turkeys and food baskets to families in the community. Volunteers of all capable ages will be needed at this year's event. More Info
